This is a regional golf event for members and guests. It is the first of a pilot-phase in the programme proposing to introduce a new Golfing Society for members nationally.

Dear Member,
At the behest of our National Chairman David Jones, we are progressing the idea of a forming Golfing Society amongst the membership. This intention in no way conflicts with Branch Golf events, quite the contrary. It is to be a society to benefit the golfing members and as an opportunity to invite their guests. Joining the society is open to members of fbe only and as a benefit there is no cost, other than that associated when entering any of the tournaments. The society will arrange golf tournaments at various courses which are in the top 100 of Braid and MacKenzie courses. These will be at various times of the year, best suited to the industry calendar and in locations sometimes relevant to industry events. As the society develops its events, we might see region v region competition and national finals, individual tournament and grand prizes. Speaking of which Branch golf days could offer winning teams a free day at the National. There are numerous ways to develop our society. To begin with we are proposing a series of regional open golf events, Members and guests. The first is very short notice I appreciate but no apologies for that, it’s just the beginning. Please see the accompanying invitation and if suits enter a team.
Invitations to join the society will be sent out on the announcement of the launch, which will, hopefully be May next year. In the meantime I trust those you golfers will find this of interest.
