Guest Speaker - Director - Development - Infrastructure, Transport & Planning @ Lendlease
Bob Tong is a Chartered Civil Engineer with extensive experience of planning, designing and delivering a range of high-profile developments in the UK and overseas, including Ascot Racecourse and the London 2012 Olympics and Legacy development.
Bob’s background is in engineering consultancy and his capabilities span across transportation, energy, environmental and infrastructure disciplines. Bob’s previous leadership roles include Global Head of Infrastructure for Buro Happold and UK Head of Planning and Development for WSP.
In his current role as Director of Infrastructure for Lendlease Bob is responsible for transport planning and infrastructure across the Lendlease project portfolio in Europe, which includes a number of nationally significant urban regeneration schemes including Birmingham Smithfield, Silvertown Quays, Stratford Cross and Euston Station redevelopment. Bob’s primary focus is on developing integrated, sustainable and digitally enabled engineering solutions that support Lendlease’s mission to create the best places. This involves close collaboration with urban designers, architects, engineers and the wider project team to identify optimal outcomes for people and the environment throughout all stages of the project lifecycle.
Bob will provide an update on Birmingham Smithfield along with the regions wider opportunities.
