Following the 50th Anniversary Lunch held earlier this year, there was strong feedback to return to holding a formal Dinner & Discourse at the Brunel. Well, we have listened, and this years dinner will have a headline speaker who has completed activities that no-one has ever done and can provide insight into some of the environmental, organisational, cultural and performance challenges that we face as we move into the 2nd quartile of the 21st century,
We are very pleased and excited to announce that our Discourse Speaker for 2024 is renowned endurance swimmer and UN Patron of the Oceans, Lewis Pugh.
Lewis combines a passion for highlighting the impacts of climate change and pollution with a determination to take on seemingly impossible challenges. He vividly describes preparing for potentially life-threatening swims in the Polar Regions, his mindset and motivation, overcoming negative thoughts before he dives in, and how he keeps going till the end. He also reflects on both success and failure, risk, the importance of the strong team behind each swim, how a high-performance culture is shared and goals achieved.
Our charity for the evening is the Lighthouse Charity, providing support to our Industry on Mental Health.
