Event Details:
fbe Great Western and fft Western invite you to an event with a difference. Join us to learn about the concept of rewilding to improve biodiversity and sustainable management. You’ll be able to see for yourself how this ties in with the new biodiversity net gain targets mandated by new legislation and has benefits for everyone.
This fantastic event is hosted at Watercress Farm at the Belmont Estate, a walking tour provided by the estate manager, showing the areas of land Belmont Estate has set aside for rewilding via traditional management techniques, such as low density grazing and the use of pigs to create meadow grassland and species rich woodland.
After the tour, as the sun goes lower in the sky, there is the opportunity to network over a buffet of locally sourced food and enjoy a drink from the bar. You might even be there long enough to see the bats come out! Even in good weather the ground may be uneven, so bring sensible shoes to walk in and we’d advise to leave the heels at home.
Getting there:
As this event is environmentally minded, we are providing a guided bike ride from the city centre to Watercress Farm as well as a WhatsApp group to support car sharing. Get in touch with us if you would like to know more.
Parking – there is parking on site.
Bus – the X7 and X9 run between Bristol City Centre and Nailsea / Clevedon, there is a bus stop known as ‘Wraxall Lodge’ a short walk from Watercress Farm.
